In order to achieve a desired effect it is necessary to select ‘base colours’, and to build up the tonal palette from there. Don’t forget, everything should be coordinated; from the dresses to the flowers, the cake… the list goes on.
You may well already have an idea what your dream wedding colours will be like; they may hold a special meaning to you, or perhaps it will be based around your favourite colour. But aside from that, there are other aspects to consider.

Colours are symbolic of both seasons and emotions. The combination of your selected colours will create a certain mood or ambience to your wedding day. Follow our guide below to work out how you can utilize this idea to really make your wedding day a joyous occasion to remember.

This cheap glamorous centerpiece is amazing! Once you see the finished product and then realize it was made out of mostly recycled, free or cheap materials you’ll be inspired.

2) Collect branches to put in your pots. I just cut branches from a tree in our yard and used one large branch per pot.

3) Fill the pot with rocks to help secure the tree branch.

4) Create the toilet paper ornaments by cutting a swatch that will cover the toilet paper roll. Don’t worry about getting all the way to the top and bottom because your accessories will cover it up. Once you have glued the fabric to the roll, punch two small holes in the top of the roll, one of each side and then thread wire or string through the holes as a way to hang it. Finally, glue beads to the bottom and add a small boa to the top – or whatever trimming accessories you choose. (fringe, ribbon, etc)

5) Collect gems with holes in the top to hang from the branches. You can find gems at Michaels and other craft or bead stores. Then thread with clear string or wire and hang from the branches.

6) Glue orchids randomly on the branches and finally, cover the top of the pot with flowers or moss to cover the rocks.

Evaluating A Wedding Reception Location

Friday, August 27th, 2010

One of the aspects of planning a wedding is locating a good wedding reception location. With a large variety of reception sites to pick from, it can sometimes set your head to spinning. Here are several tips that you can follow to find the best possible wedding reception hall or venue for your celebration.

Start off by choosing at least 3 possible places to hold your reception. Write down the name of the location, address, phone number and directions to the place then call to make an appointment to view each of the venues.

When the time comes to visit each location, make sure to bring a digital camera with you so you can take lots of pictures (inside and out) of each venue.

ake pictures of the driveway entrance, the parking areas, and the entrance into the building. Once inside, you’ll want pictures of the foyer, coat closet area, bathroom locations, main reception room, door to the kitchen facilities, outside exits, window placements, etc. These photos will be a major help to you later when you’re trying to remember “which location had what,” as well as with drawing up a floor plan for table seating, etc.

Speaking of floor plans: ask the site manager if they possibly have a copy of the actual floor plan that they could give you. This would certainly help you with your layout (as you’d have the actual room sizes and such). By figuring out the placements of the head table, guest tables, bar, etc. you’ll be able to get a better overall view of what the wedding reception location will look like, as well as if it will comfortably accommodate all of your wedding guests.

Take Lots of Notes

While at each venue, there are several details that you should pay attention to. Here is a list to take with you so you can make notes as you go along:

1. If you are planning to have the ceremony and reception in one location, will there be enough room to hold all the guests as well as provide room for setting up an area for the actual ceremony?

2. Keeping in-line with a reception/ceremony in one place; is there a separate room where your guests can go after the wedding ceremony to mingle while tables are setup for the dinner and reception?

3. If this is to be just a reception (the ceremony is elsewhere) is there enough space near the entrance for a receiving line to meet and greet the guests?

4. Check to see exactly how many guests the wedding reception location will hold. You should also take into account needed area space for: your head table, guestbook table, gift table, cake table, desert and/or buffet tables, DJ/band setup, and the dance floor. If you’re planning on inviting 100 guests and the room only holds 75 comfortably with the furniture included, you should look for a new location.

5. Where is the bar located? Can people easily get to it and move around without crowding nearby dinner tables?

6. Does the venue have adequate cooking faculties to prepare food for the number of guests you are planning to invite?

7. Where are the bathroom facilities located? Are they large enough to hold a few guests at a time or are they single rooms, where only one person can enter at a time? The second option is not a good choice for a large wedding. Can someone with a disability enter them safely?

8. Is there enough parking available at the site itself or will the guests need to park farther down the street? If so, is parking allowed during the time of your reception and will there be enough spaces available? If not, where is the closest available parking located? Do guests have to pay for parking?

9. Does the facility have a cloak room? Will there be enough space for all the coats and jackets? Do they have a person doing a coat check or does each guest need to hang up their own coats? Is the cloak room in a secured, yet viewable area?

10. Does the facility have enough chairs, tables, linens, cutlery, plates, utensils, etc. to accommodate the number of wedding guests?

11. Is there adequate room to set up a head table to accommodate the wedding party?

12. Most importantly, does the wedding reception location you are considering have liability insurance?

Summer Weddings

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

People love to get married no matter what time of the year it is. However, their does seem to be more people getting married during the summer season than during other (colder) seasons. Today we are going to talk about what makes summer weddings so much fun. We will also cover some great ideas that you will want to include in your own summer wedding.

First of all, everything needs to be colorful. No matter what you include in your summer wedding, remember that it needs some color to it. This does not mean that you need to go color crazy, because that just makes the wedding look more like a carnival. However, try to bring in some warm and bright hues. It’s also good if you can include these warm hues on the summer wedding invitations as well. This gives the person that is coming the “feel” of the wedding. Right now, sophisticated is hot. Stick with two hues, and try to keep your space unified. Also try to use one color for a strong statement. Yes, this means like pink or bold orange centerpieces. This is something that will stand out right away against the other color that you choose.

Next, when it comes to summer weddings, you can not go wrong with laid back music. This is more fitting for summer weddings than for other weddings. This means trying to go with a pianist or a string trio is always nice as well. Right now, having that laid back vibe during the cocktail hour is very “in.” Think steel drums meets ukulele. If you can, try and work in the classic swing (big band swing) for the upbeat part of the evening. After all, the laid back feeling goes good for cocktail hour, nothing more.

Now, there are always some basic themes that go with a summer wedding. This includes the garden theme or even the basic beach theme. However, these are pretty generic settings, and you may want to take a more personal route to find the look and feel you want for your wedding. Do not just do something, because everyone else is doing it. To achieve this goal, think of your favorite summer hangout spot. For example, if you love the mountains during the summer, then think of a mountain theme.

As we have already talked about, summer wedding invitations look best when they have some color in them. Although black and ivory wedding invitations are still very classic and will work for your wedding theme, it is best to do something that is unexpected with the wedding invitations. This makes your wedding stand out to people more when they think back on it. You will also find that more people are likely to respond to a creative wedding invitation than a normal dull one.

On the tables you are going to want summer themes as well. Of course, you will need summer wedding favors for the guests, but you will also want some natural centerpieces. Having these kinds of centerpieces for your wedding are a sure fire way to make your wedding visually appealing to the eye. One thing that always good as natural centerpieces are fruits. Try hollowing out a watermelon and putting the flowers inside of that for the vase. This adds both a little charm to your wedding and a new look that many people may have never seen before.

Also, remember that summer is a hot time of the year. Unless you want your guests to fry, try serving them some cold drinks. Normally wine smoothies work the best. The great thing about wine smoothies is that they are cold and refreshing, but they pack less of an alcoholic punch than something like margaritas. You can also develop unique beach wedding favors that fit your summer theme with drinks or frozen treats in mind.

Now, when it comes to your wedding cake, there is a lot you can do with it when it comes to summer weddings. You need to think outside the box that is left by most bakers. Do not just think white or brown cake. Think what kind of summer theme items you want included on the cake itself. For example, a wedding cake would look great with some fresh strawberries on it. Not only does this make the cake look nice, but it makes it taste great too! Thus, you can say that things like strawberry shortcake goes great for a wedding cake. You may even want to fill your cakes with some kind of citrus filling, maybe some lemon or orange vanilla butter cream.

Overall, it does not matter what you do for a summer wedding, you are still going to enjoy it. However, the tips that we talked about are sure to help you enjoy your summer wedding just a little bit more. These tips are sure to turn a normal summer wedding into one that you and your guests will never forget about, and that is all you can ask from a wedding!

Beach Wedding Ideas

What could be better than a wedding at the beach?

Just remember that it’s not all fun in the sun, and careful planning is required to successfully pull off a fun seaside ceremony.

Pros and Cons of Beach Weddings

The sand, the sun, the surf, (and the wind) – that make a beach wedding so special – can also present special problems for wedding planners.

To lessen the chance of an overheated or sunburned wedding party, late morning or late afternoon are usually the best times for beach ceremonies, with dusk probably one of the most romantic ways to complete the ceremony, accented by a beautiful sunset backdrop.

With local expert advice, you can also schedule your ceremony when there is less chance of high tide. In case of rain, also be sure to have have a “Plan B” ready so guests can enjoy a memorable beach wedding whatever the weather …

Beach Wedding Ideas

Any theme that ties in with the sand and shore is perfect for beach weddings wherever they’re located.

Hawaiian themes are some of the more popular – including leis for bride, groom and guests – followed by a luau reception decorated with tiki torches and lots of orchids and hibiscus.

Caribbean themes are also much in favor including spicy island dishes with entertainment, including steel drums and a reggae beat at the reception. Nautical more your style? It couldn’t be easier, what with themed decorations widely marketed for summer parties or beach parties throughout the season.

Wedding Invitations

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Wedding invitations are everywhere. You can pretty much buy them at any local store. However, where do you find the great wedding invitations, items that will really speak to your guests about the value of your special day? Sure you can go to your local Wal-Mart and pick up a box of the same old everyday, but you are not really making a statement with those.

There are two main ways to go about finding unique wedding invitations, and they are both very different. The first thing that you have to know before we talk about either way is that just because it\’s a great card does not mean that it\’s an expensive card. Something does not have to cost a lot of money to show that it has heart.

First things first, you can find the most unique wedding invitations online. When you search online, you are able to look for wedding supplies from invitation vendorsfrom all over the world. This allows you to get a beautiful wedding invitation to send out to people that they have never seen. This lets people know that it\’s not just a wedding, it’s your special wedding. Another great thing about buying your invitations for the wedding online is the fact that you can get them at discount prices.

A lot of times when you are trying to get unique invitations locally, you end up spending a lot of money. However, when you get them online, these online businesses are competing for your money. When businesses compete for your business, you save money every time! Saving money on a wedding is one thing that people love and a lot of people try to do, and coming up with inexpensive wedding invitation ideas is not difficult.

The next idea for finding great wedding invitations has to do with your skills. That is because the second most common way to find the right invitation is to create do it yourself wedding invitations. This is something that a lot of people do not think that they can do. A lot of people do not think that they have the skills needed to make great invitations that are worth sending out to friends and family. The good news is that making your own do it yourself wedding invitations is a lot easier than what you may think. Most of the time you do not even have to come up with your own unique wedding invitation ideas.

When looking for ideas, you can simply navigate to our online store, and we will give you different ideas along with a step by step guide on how to make the wedding invitation itself. The truth of the matter is, a lot of people like to make their own wedding invitations for two reasons. First of all, it costs a lot less money to make them yourself than it does to buy them. Second, it makes the wedding invitation more unique. If you make a card yourself, you can rest assured that no one else has a card out there like it.

Coming up with your own unique wedding invitations and save the date cards is fun. However, looking online for great designs can be fun to. What it comes down to is whatever you feel is more fitting for your wedding. If you are having a very traditional wedding, then you might as well buy the invitations, but if you are having a more casual wedding, then make the invitations yourself.

Look Beyond Your Wedding Day

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Engaged couples often spend hours and hours planning their wedding day. Details such as the invitations, cake and guest list take on considerable importance. Much research is done and options weighed all in the quest of orchestrating a “perfect” event. As couples plan this spectacular day, are they also planning for all the days to follow? Are they thinking beyond the wedding itself to essential things like wills and life insurance?

Few couples, especially those marrying young, imagine the thought of a spouse dying early on in the marriage. Addressing this possibility and strategizing accordingly may prevent financial hardship during a time of emotional devastation.

Women especially need to plan ahead financially:

They usually outlive men by 5.3 years on average.
Nearly one third of women between the ages of 65 and 74 qualify as widows.
This figure jumps significantly to over 51% as women reach age 75.
Women may become financially disadvantaged when their husbands die, for a variety of reasons. Sometimes women work part-time or even temporarily leave the work force as they juggle raising children and/or caring for aging parents. Fewer years spent working full-time outside the home affects pension accumulations and Social Security benefits. Also statistically women earn 77 cents on the dollar compared to men. This gap widens with age.

Developing solutions in advance of life’s unpredictable events may help you deal with a loss someday. Here are actions to take as you prepare for life beyond your wedding day:

Talk to your fiancé and family about your financial concerns, difficult as this may be. Perhaps schedule an appointment with a financial professional, or a family or estate attorney. Their knowledge can help you define goals, identify needs, ask the right questions and make important decisions.
Ask yourself and your partner some serious questions. Does your financial outlook consider the possibility of your spouse’s death? Do you have a will? Are your financial documents, wills, trusts organized? Do either of you have short and long-term wishes?
Draft a will. Implementing a will usually is quite time consuming even when constructed during a stress-free time in your life. There are many things to evaluate; you must think about important issues related to financial and personal matters. Perhaps as a result, 55% of Americans don’t have wills. An attorney can facilitate this process.
Learn about each other’s assets including all bank accounts, retirement plans, insurance coverage, tax returns, life and disability income insurance policies.
Develop an orderly, easy-to-access system. Store important paperwork and documents in a safe deposit box, locked file cabinet or some secure place with easy access. Make sure you both regularly update these materials.
As you and your spouse-to-be plan your special wedding day, don’t forget to also address the future beyond. Horrible as it is to think about the death of your spouse, not preparing for the possibility can make a difficult time in your life that much worse. Don’t wait to get your financial matters organized. Develop solutions for a variety of life scenarios today.

Unique Wedding Ideas…

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Consider having your rings engraved on the inside with your entire wedding vows, or another personalized message. It’s always been a lovely tradition for couples to have the inside of their wedding bands engraved, but until now, the message had to be extremely brief. In the past it was usually only possible to engrave intials or the wedding date into the rings. However, one clever and creative jewlery company has now developed a way to engrave your entire wedding vows inside your wedding rings. Their unique and patented process allows multiple rows of engraving, so entire wedding vows or other complete messages can be inserted. This has never been offered before, and is only available through the one company which holds the patent. We LOVE this idea – we only wish someone had figured out how to do this sooner!

A wedding band is the most symbolic piece of bridal jewelry most people will wear. It represents the un-ending union of two people. It was originally believed that the ring finger has an artery that leads straight to the heart, and this is why the ring finger was selected for the important duty of wearing wedding rings. Once married, most people seldom take off their wedding rings, which also symbolize their faithfulness for each other. And the plain, traditional wedding band continues to be the most popular style because it captures the essence of love in its purest form.

Having the unique ability to engrave a full message – or your full wedding vows – into your wedding bands makes them all the more meaningful and precious. Those of us who are already married are eating our hearts out that this wasn’t available when we got our wedding rings! This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, “It what’s inside that counts”!

Wedding Crafts & Do-It-Yourself Projects

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

Candle gel is the hottest new product in candle crafting. This new product (95% mineral oil, 5% resin) is transparent, is extremely easy to clean up, and has a significantly longer burning time than traditional waxes. In the book Gel Candles, 40 Creative Projects, Author Kaila Westerman gives the basics of gel candle crafting in ten easy steps, then explores the endless possibilities for creating special effects and embediments such as glass, botanicals, shells, stones, and pieces of solid paraffin candle wax. Readers can create candles that look like rainbows, aquariums, seascapes, playful sodas and other drinks, and more. Since gel candles cannot stand alone, each design is enhanced by wonderful whimsical, vintage, or even sophisticated containers.

Follow the 10 Easy Steps Wth These Variations

Pouring a Martini – When using martini, margarita, and other types of glasses with narrow bases, string glass beads along the wick so the gel doesn’t burn down to the bottom and become a fire hazard (see page 19 for more information). Scent and color the candle gel. Set the swizzle stick in the glass, then pour in the gel.

Making Wine and Margaritas – For wine, margaritas, and other drinks that have no natural carbonation, remove bubbles from the gel with the heat technique. To finish off a margarita, wait until the candle is completely cool. Then, run a thin bead of glue around the rim of the glass and immediately dip it into a plate of salt.

Gel candle crafting is far simpler and less messy than candlemaking with traditional waxes. Gel is easy to handle — you just cut it with scissors or tear it with your hands. Unlike paraffin wax, which turns a lighter shade as it dries, candle gel is easy to color with candle dyes — what you see is what you get.

No matter which candle project you make, the basic steps are always the same; you simply vary the colors, scents, containers, and embedments. Once you’ve learned the 10 easy steps of gel candle crafting, you’ll be ready to tackle the simple projects in the next chapter and then the more complicated projects that follow.

Excerpted from the book
Gel Candles: 40 Creative Projects
by C. Kaila Westerman

This project is a fun way to use interesting glasses with classic shapes. Glass swizzle sticks, which add a nice retro flair, are available in unique and eclectic designs. This project uses martini glasses, but you can make drink-theme candles in wine, margarita, and cocktail glasses, as well.

Gel candle crafting can be done in 10 easy steps. You may find that you wish to change the order in which you do things or even skip some of the steps, depending on your project or personal preferences. However, if you are new to gel candle crafting, follow the order of these 10 steps until you feel comfortable with the process.

Set Up the Workspace

Assemble your materials and cover your work surface with newspaper.

Prepare the Container

Wash your container with soap and water and dry it thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. If you wish, wipe the inside and the outside with some rubbing alcohol, vinegar, or commercial glass cleaner to remove fingerprints and the last bit of soapy residue.

Set the Wick

Your choice of wick is very important to your success at crafting a safe and evenly burning candle. Once you have chosen the proper wick, trim it so that it stands about 1 inch higher than the mouth of the container. If it is too short or too long, you’ll find it hard to keep it in place while the gel cools. Next, straighten the wick out with your fingers. If the wick isn’t straight, your candle will burn off center as it follows the wick’s curve.

Also, since you are working with a transparent medium, people will see that the wick is not straight and the candle may look odd. Finally, set the wick in the container by using one of the following methods:

Use fast-setting clear epoxy glue to adhere the wick to the bottom of the container. Make sure the glue is completely dry and hard before you pour in the melted gel, or the glue will contaminate the gel and make it appear cloudy.

Use Sticky Wicky or a bit of clay to adhere the wick to the bottom of the container. Use these products sparingly, though, as they can contaminate the clarity of the gel.

Pour a little melted candle gel into the bottom of the container and then quickly set the wick on top. This method is the easiest and fastest, but it’ s also the least stable, so be careful to not knock the wick out of place as you move on to the next steps. After you pour in the hot gel, you’ll need to make sure that the top of the wick stays centered in the candle. The easiest way to do this is to place two skewers, chopsticks, or pencils in an X shape across the top of the container and prop the wick in one corner to keep it straight as the gel cools. Once the gel is almost cool, gently tug the wick straight.

Melt the Gel

Candle gel is usually packaged in a tub of some sort. Tear it out with your fingers or cut it out with a knife or scissors. Melt enough gel to fill the container to the top, less 1/4 inch for headroom. You can estimate this amount by eyeballing the container and comparing it to the amount of gel in your melting pot, but if you do, be sure to overestimate. If you underfill the container and then top it off with another batch of melted gel, you will end up with a visible line where the two separate pours meet.

Rather than estimating the quantity of gel you will need for a container, it ’s better to measure the amount precisely. Simply fill the container with water, stopping 1/4 inch from the top. Pour the water into a measuring cup to figure out how much gel you will need. Be sure to dry the container carefully before pouring in the melted gel.

After you determine how much gel you need, cut or tear the gel into small pieces about 1/2 inch across and put the pieces into the pot. If you drop one large chunk of candle gel into the pot, it will take longer to melt and parts of it will get very hot before other parts have even begun to liquefy. This creates a fire hazard and forces you to stir more frequently. More stirring will create more bubbles in the final candle. If you are working with direct heat on the stovetop, set the temperature to medium-low. If you are using an enclosed heating device, such as a freestanding electric pot, set the temperature control to 200–225°F. Leave the container uncovered; otherwise, steam will rise to the lid and then condense back down onto the candle gel, resulting in a candle that burns poorly and contains excessive bubbles.

Using a thermometer, heat the gel until it is 190–225°F. How hot you make the gel depends on the density of the gel and on your project. A good general temperature is 200°F. At this temperature, fragrances and colors will blend well. You can heat the gel up to 225°F if you want to reduce the amount bubbles but, for safety, don’t exceed 225°F.

Add Fragrance

Add about 1/2 ounce of fragrance per 16 ounces of candle gel, or 1 tablespoon per 2 cups of gel. If you add too much fragrance oil, you will we taken the gel and make it mushy. Also, completely stir the fragrance into the gel or it will be trapped in the cooled candle as little hot spots of flammable matter, creating a fire hazard.

Add Color

The uniqueness of candle gel lies in its clarity, so your candle will be beautiful even when it is crystal clear. There are also dyes specifically formulated for use with candle gel. However, most of the candle colorants on the market are made to color traditional opaque candles, which require more dye than transparent candles do in order to achieve a medium shade. While just one drop of concentrated liquid candle color may be fine for a pound of paraffin wax, it can overpower a pound of candle gel.

I strongly suggest that before you begin your adventure into gel candle crafting, you take the time to make up some color nuggets by blending a little colorant with candle gel. You will then be able to tear off pieces of less concentrated color to add to the melting gel.

Position Embedments

Candle gel by itself is very pretty. But part of the fun of gel candle crafting is to tell a story or create a montage with various embedments and decorations, such as glass animals, beads, shells, sand, and the like.

Pour the Gel and Let it Cool

Do not pour the melted gel all the way to the top of the container. Leave about 1/4 inch of space between the top of the gel and the top of the container. How you pour the gel into the container determines the amount of bubbles in the finished candle. Think of it like pouring beer or soda into a glass — if you tilt the glass to meet the bottle as you pour, there will be less foam. If you pour the liquid straight from the top, there will be more foam.

In a similar way, if you carefully tilt the container as you pour the gel in, you will reduce the amount of bubbles. If you pour the gel without tilting the container, you will produce more bubbles.

Finish the Candle and Attach a Warning Label

Once the candle has fully cooled, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. Carefully wipe down the container to remove any spills or fingerprints. Use an oven, a heat gun, a blow dryer, or a heat lamp to polish the surface of the candle and create a more finished appearance.

Don’t forget that any candle you give away or sell should come with a warning label. Many people take candles for granted and forget that candles are a small source of fire, and therefore potentially hazardous. Please remind them.

Clean Up

Cleaning up is simple if you let the extra bit of melted gel in the pot, the pouring cups, and the other utensils cool. When the gel is cool, you can simply peel it out of a container or off a tool. Put the scraps in a covered container to use in your next project. Then wash all the utensils with soap and water. Some people use the same utensils for cooking later, but I recommend that you dedicate them to candle crafting only.

Fire Safety

Candle gel is flammable. For your safety, carefully read and follow these tips.

• Don’t melt the gel over high heat or heat it to more than 225°F. If the gel begins to smoke, it’s getting dangerously hot.

• If a fire does break out, do not try to put it out with water. Water can make the hot gel splatter and burn your skin. Instead, use a fire extinguisher or smother the flame with a metal pan or lid. Alternatively, throw baking soda on the flame or cover it with a damp cloth.

• Never leave melting candle gel unattended. If you are going to be distracted for even a short time, turn the heat off and return to your project when you can be more focused.

• If hot candle gel splashes onto your skin, flush it immediately with cold water to reduce the risk of a burn.

• Do not pour melted candle gel down the sink. Avoid getting solid bits of candle gel into your drainpipes, too. Candle gel will most definitely cause plumbing problems.

• Always attach a warning label to candles that you give away or sell.

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Is your wedding on a budget? Let us help. There are many economical ways to put together an amazing wedding. Saving can be found at nearly every corner if you’re willing to put the time in to find them.

Tips on managing the wedding, and the marriage and wedding finances. Marriage can be an expensive event – the ceremony andreception require the most attention.

Weddings are an extremely special occasion for the bride and groom-to-be. There are so many finite details which go into planning a wedding that make this event a big deal. When planning a wedding, the couple needs to consider financial aspects with regard to their big day. There are a few financial tips for the happy couple so as to ensure that the financial planning which goes along with an event of this type will go as smoothly as possible.

Prepare a Budget

The first thing which a couple should do prior to purchasing any wedding suppliesor reserving any establishments for the special event is to sit down and make a budget. This is beneficial for a few different reasons. First, the couple will be able to mark down how much they are able to spend on the wedding ceremony, wedding reception and any and all other expenses which go along with planning an event of this type. Secondly, by preparing a physical budget, the couple can adequately prepare a list of what types of items they will need to purchase and approximate how much each one will cost.

Save Money by Planning an Off-Season Wedding

For those individuals who do not really mind what time of year they exchange vows, there is a way to save money on the wedding by planning the big day at a time of the year where not every other couple is getting married. Although individuals can and do get married twelve months out of the year, there are certain seasons such asspring and summer where more couples engage in their nuptials. Certain establishments may offer discounts to couples who get married in the “off-season”. Not only will the couple save some money but they may be more likely to have their choice when it comes to booking reception halls for the big day and be less likely to have the place filled up on that particular date.

Buy in Bulk

Another financial tip for couples to take advantage of when planning their wedding is to buy items in bulk. This is a distinct possibility with regard to weddings as there are usually quite a few guests who will be attending and one can often receive a discount on wedding related items that are bought in bulk, such as wedding favors in groups of 100 or 200, for example.

A wedding is such a special event that the couple is sure to want the day to go as smoothly as possible. In addition, they are most likely hoping to get as much for their money as possible and make the day as spectacular as it possibly can be. By creating an initial budget, considering getting married during the wedding off-season and attempting to buy wedding related items such as wedding favors in bulk, the couple can get the most for the money without having to spend a fortune on the wedding ceremony and reception.
